Caught so many fish on one of my beloved vision 110s that it’s time to replace the bent and cracked treble hooks. I tried swapping the stock hooks for #6 gammy wide bends but they’re causing my bait to slowly sink now. Looks like they might be a little bit thicker gauge than the stock hooks.

 

Any suggestions for a thin, but strong hook that will allow my bait to suspend again?

Everything I've read has been to replace with the original hooks. The vision is very sensitive to the weight of the hook to perform properly. Most tackle outlets sell them.

I can't stand the original hooks.  I can't make myself fish light enough tackle to not bend em and ive broken several.  I have experimented with several.  The owner st36 is awesome but is a little heavy. Doesn't seem to affect catch ratios tho. Daichii death traps are what I use mainly now. Still a little light for my taste but sticky sharp

I dont change them on the mb vision until they need changing.   I havent had any problems with them

 

I just save all the existing hooks off my broken MB 110s and use them as replacements for non-broken baits - ? I’m still ahead of the game, so far. They’re pretty delicate at temps in the 30s and 40s.

I use Gamakatsu EWG Treble Short Shank Magic Eye #4's.

I use the stock outbarbs, #6 for standard size 110's....But I have a buddy that uses the #5 Gamakatsu Nano-Finesse trebles and he says they are perfect, same weight as the original hooks.  When I run out of my stock of outbarbs I plan on trying the Nano-Finesse ones.  

 

You used to be able to buy stock hooks in bulk from MB-USA but I'm told they don't do that anymore - I bought a big supply of them several years ago so I won't be trying others for a while.

When I researched this in the past, I found that a lot of 110 users also recommended the Gamakatsu Nano Finesse in #5.

These hook points don't point inward like EWG hooks. Bass often do a swipe on jerk baits and EWG hooks won't get them. These Nano hooks will and they're super sticky. And with 3 hooks on these baits you seldom lose a fish because it gets the other hooks embedded during the fight. My PB of 8.3 lbs came on this bait, but with the original Outbarb hooks. I still use the original until they're broken or dull and then I swap out to the Nano Finesse hooks.
