Hi Mike, I think you made a good decision, Sierra is lighter than Fury and the 5 power should do the job for frogging / pitching very well, hope you'll enjoy

I had a chance to use my 703, and I believe it's sensitive enough for my needs. I tied on a t-rig on, and while I didn't catch anything, I could feel the bottom. I also threw a shallow crankbait with it. No bass, but I caught a handful of Tennessee tarpon (a couple good sized ones). It handled them just fine. I think it's a keeper...especially at the BF price.

I think they are decent rods. Definately well built and pretty well balanced. But that said for the price I think you would be better off with a Falcon Lowrider +-$129 or Falcon BooCoo @$100.

 

The issue I have is that they aren't very sensitive though they probably seem sensitive if you are upgrading from a $50 rod or just about any Abu rod under $300.

 

So, to me it depends on what you are wanting the rods for. Cranks, Lipless, Swimbaits, Spinners, etc, the Dobyns are good rods....Shakeyhead, jigs, worms, Texas rigs....go for the Falcons.

I currently own 13 Dobyns rods. 5 Champions, 1 Savvy, 5 Fury’s, and 2 Kadens.....love’em!
Every one was bought on some type of sale, and most on some GREAT sales!

I have one dobyns rod for my large swimsuit(u to 20 Oz), Let me tell you, I am in high end tackle, don't have rod less than $500 in arsenal, But I was forced to buy this dobys because I had no other choice, and now I am glad that I did, it is very light and cast my swimsuits like a champ, not getting tired using it. and it feels ultra high end. So honestly I fully recommend you to do yourself a favor and go with them.The picture attached the info of my Dobyns 908.
