I dont know if this has been posted, but Daiwa has a new smaller Zillion 1000 coming out.  The color, new brake dial location, and size tell me its aimed directly at the Metanium.  Lots of retrieve ratios and 6.17oz in weight.

I loved the mechanics of my zillion I had 6-7 years ago, just never got comfortable with it ergonomically.

 

A more palmable zillion is a huge upgrade imo.

Sweet.  I saw this reel mentioned in a thread on TT.  Did they say anything about a U.S. release? 

I was thinking about grabbing a zillion SV last year, but I eventually decided not to.  Ive heard its an outstanding reel especially for lighter baits but I think you get more for your money with Shimano at that price point especially if you go JDM.  For another 40$ I just went with the Met B, which has really impressed me.

There's actually dedicated threads to each of the 3 new reels over there. I've only heard a couple things about a US release that is supposed to be, allegedly, February. It won't be cheaper when the Zillion comes over stateside anyway or not likely at least. Cheapest you'll find it is overseas. There's a couple places stateside that will likely have fairly close to the overseas price though.
