I live in Dallas, TX and fishing has been tough so far. The large mouth in the creek I fish prefer very small lures (drop-shot, micro crank-baits, etc...). I found that when I use a drop-shot rig they show initial interest in the lure itself but once they see the actual lead weight I use for the drop-shot they get really aggressive and chase it around trying to eat it. What lures would you recommend I use to catch these fish? I cant even think of what they might be eating that looks like a drop-shot/split-shot weight.

I have experienced the same exact thing. Use a Ned rig. I use 1/2 of a Yum Dinger on a 1/8 oz. ball headjig.

Look up Flick Shake jig and worm. This is over looked today by the Ned rig popularity. IMO it’s more more effective way rigged small worms like 3” To 4” straight tail worms.
