5/0
I know this is an odd question, but I was making jig skirts the other day and when I would put two tabs together on the skirt tool hook they would fly apart like birds wings. It was like trying to put two magnets together at the same pole, they would repel one another! It was really frustrating. Has anyone else had this occur and what causes it? The material is stored in Plano box slots out of the package by color in a garage cabinet. Joe
Super User Jig Man Posted March 27, 2021 Super User Share Posted March 27, 2021 Sounds like static electricity but I have no idea how that would happen. I use thread to hold my skirt material in place until I get it the way I want it then I wire tie it.
Reel
You can brush them with a sheet that you put in the dryer and they will stop doing that. 1
Super User Munkin Posted March 27, 2021 Super User Share Posted March 27, 2021 This is something I have never experienced? Usually the only problems are with gasoline smell or fishingskirts, com squeezing them so much in the package they don't want to seperate. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 29, 2021 Global Moderator Share Posted March 29, 2021 The strands sticking together is awful. Seems like some colors are worse than others. White and chartreuse being a couple of the worst unfortunately.

When I pull the tabs through the skirt tool the tabs end up in a jumbled mess. So far I’ve been using 2 1/2 tabs. I’m going to reduce it to 2 and see if that works better. Are all skirt tools the same inside diameter? Maybe a wider one would work better?

I know the issue you're talking about but I wire tie mine and it doesn't seem to happen as bad that way.
