Hey folks. I inherited a 16' Lund Pro Sport fishing boat a few years ago when my dad passed, and I really haven't used it much. I do enjoy fishing, but seem to have trouble finding the time to get out. I was going to buy some rod holders for it, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what there two things are that are attached to the boat. Is one of them the bottom half of a rod holder?

 

 

That upper one looks like a Scotty base.

Dunno what that bottom one is.

Ahh ok, thx a lot. So I guess if I buy a Scotty rod holder, I could just use that base and not have a drill any holes in the boat? Anyway, thank you for the help.

Yes, that’s correct.

Bottom one is a base for an older Cannon downrigger.

top one is an oar lock

Click on the pic - then again...you'll get a larger image. I definitely see the 'teeth' of what looks to be an older Scotty mount inside.

Top is a Scotty mount for sure.  Oar lock receivers aren't plastic and are welded in.  The bottom is some sort of downrigger mount.

I'd say you'd be correct on that

The top one is a Scotty rod holder base.  I have a couple on the sport tracks on my Lund and one in my shop to static test rods.
