Looking at the top baits from the Sabine River tourney Taku had an interesting one rigged up.

Ito created a heavy-duty Neko rig, using a Nories Sankaku T-San, rigged on a 2/0 Ryugi Infini Hook, with a 3/16oz. weight.

Fish were munching that odd looking thing.  He got his first G-G-G-GIANT BASS, he was very excited about that! ?

I saw that. :)

I used to buy these wacky rig baits and they were sold molded like that in 1 piece

Eventually you see you have a hundred half pieces of senkos laying in the boat and decide to do this yourself.

A piece of plastic is a great weedguard and when you add a screw lock it can be added to anything

I remember those! I have some laying around somewhere, kind of wish I didn’t hahah

So whats the orange thing at the head?

I thought some type of cone would be perfect for my toads

My attempts at removing the metal threads from inside a wire nut were not successful

I then used these tips from my wifes icing thingamajig and those did not work either.

interesting bait he's got for sure, made specifically for the neko rig

His 3/16 oz weight maybe?  I'm wondering the same thing.

That is a wild-looking Neko rig bait right there.

Does anyone know of any video of him fishing this weekend at Douglas? I'd like to see how he was working the baits.

I think you are getting your Japanese anglers mixed up, I don’t think Ito fished at Douglas

I think you're thinking of Daisuke Aoki.

Thanks for pointing that out. My brain went numb this morning I guess.
