Two New sizes of TATSU fluorocarbon for 2022 ~

New for 2022 are two additional sizes of TATSU fluorocarbon — 17 and 22 lb test are being added to round out the offerings.

I'm pumped about that 22lb !

Fishing south of the border, the 20lb can be a little sketchy

and the 25 lb always seems just a little on the heavy side.

Hope it comes out before we leave . . .

Excellent!

Not that I need or even want a replacement for the 20# Shooter, the 22# will fit nicely.

I'm not sure how I missed this announcement. I love Tatsu, but always felt they needed something between their 15 and 20lb offerings. 17lb is the perfect sized for pitching to cover imo, so this is great news!

This is a killer deal on the 22lb if you're interested.

I certainly was.

Now my new Lake Baccarac line

But I already won "this Drawing".

Speaking of Tatsu, I got hung up using 15lb Tatsu from the bank yesterday. I had about 10 ft of line out, wrapped it around a stick and pulled as hard as I could.  Next thing I knew a worm was flying at my face. Instead of breaking, it bent out a 4/0 Gammy.  This is after fighting and boat flipping a 6 pound bowfin with the same stretch of line last week.

I had confidence in Tatsu before but now I don’t question it.  A year in and I have zero complaints.

Discount is the best I've found for price so far. They ship fast also.

That’s almost happened to me too. Luckily, I have ninja matrix reflexes so I was able to instinctively move with grace and style to avoid getting tagged with it.

The lesson learned from that day was if you’re going to yank on the line in such a manner, always pull to either side of you and not from directly in front of you. That way, if it does break free, it has no chance of hitting you.

Correction. It actually still could hit you, if you make the mistake of moving into it’s path like you might have done playing dodge ball, lol.

I'm about 40 hours in of fishing the 22lb pretty hard, in both wood and rock. It's goofy strong, and one of the things most don't notice is it is roughly the same size as 15lb big game and -thinner- than 20lb invisx.

Anyway it is goofy strong, I bent a 6/0 mustad grip pin hook out on a snag; they are pretty heavy hooks.

Likely overkill for all but gnarly cover, but when you need it, it really works.

Probably the net net result is a even more confidence in 20lb tatsu with a double SDJ.

Since I am not into big game fluorocarbon , My heart belongs to Tatsu 12lb test as always.

So here's a quick update / Review of the 22 lb Tatsu.

After 5 1/2 days on Lake Baccarac this fall, I am happy to report,

It's Really Good !

I've used and do like the 20 lb & the 25lb,

so I couldn't imagine the 22 lb being anything but killer and it is.

Like @txchaser noted above, it is definitely a powerful line.

Not something I say often in regards to FC.

Besides handing every bass quite confidently,

I straightened out the rather stout hook on a swimbait getting it off a snag.

Impressive, especially for it's diameter.

As a Tatsu fan, this one displays all the positive characteristics I've come to appreciate.
