Favorite Smallmouth bass rivers that you can share?

Featured Replies

I had a blast fishing the Middle Racoon River when I lived in Iowa. Caught smallies on a regular basis. It's definitely not the "best" place to fish, but for central Iowa, I never got skunked there.

  • If you want to drive Susquehanna and Juniata rivers in Pa.

  • The St. Lawrence is quite possibly the best smallmouth river in the world.

  • My favorite rivers are the glorified creeks that don't get any notoriety. The kinds of small rivers tucked away that nobody fishes. I've caught so many 3+ lb SMB out of those.

the housatonic river in western ct. has nice size smallies, trout ( 3.5 to 5 lbs for either are not uncommon) and smaller pike ( 25" is about the avg size for me).

In my N J & the Delaware River. Too much fishing pressure if you tell any other person. The spot is cleaned out in hours.  No more sharing with people. They see it as food. Can not fault them for that.
