Live Target 3” Bluegill.

So Ive had one for over a year now. Never had a fish sniff at it. Ive noticed a 4-5 pound bass hanging around my dock, and he will occasionally blast a bream, especially when Im feeding them. So today I had the live target on, threw some bread out, cast into the feeding bream, and BOOM, the bass clobbered it…but missed. Couldnt get another strike.

So now Ive got more confidence with it.

Wondering what your experiences are with it, how do y’all fish it , etc. ?

What pound line do you fish it on?  I would think you would need some big braid to set the hook on this thing, because of the massive hook, and how close it is to the body.

I've got one and would only see someone hooking up if you put the bottom treble on.

I think it’s on 30 pound power pro..

It has  essentially the same hook I have on my top water frogs. I didn’t really get  a chance to see what the hooks could do, because the fish missed…

Trebles aren’t very practical right now due to all the summer weeds in the lake…

Stiff plastic, horrible hookup ratio, not a great swim. The Savage Gear bluegills are much better and not much more expensive.

Also, ya might consider the Mattlures U2 bluegil and crappie swimbaits. These run 18.99. They catch fish, and are fairly durable. I have about a dozen of them.

In all honesty I don’t have a lot of LiveTarget. That’s because of lack of success with their stuff. I’ll throw cranks all day long. Have a lot of them. Not many with that name on them.

But that said I’m not dissing them. They seem to put out a great product. Just not meant for my hands.

Yeah, that’s the only bait I have by them.

I tried to coax another strike with it for a little while this morning with no success..

Back a handful of years ago they had this crankbait called “hunt for center” craws. Sort of reminds you of a Bomber Model A crankbait. My intention was to try a few. Should of been great for river Smallies. OK I did drag butt to get a few BUT those things must be one of the shortest lived baits going because they were discontinued dang near as soon as they came out. Never did get one. Oh well.

I've got one a buddy gave to me, bet you can't guess why. ?

I doubt it will ever see the water, based on where the hook is.
