Hi all - First post here, long time lurker. 

Looking to get a frogging rod, heavy power for frog fishing. Will be throwing 50/65 pound braid on an 8 gear ratio reel...

I have been looking to get a rod specifically for frogging and was looking in the $60-120 range and saw this $55 rod pop up. Anyone have any experience with these? Would it work well for a frogging rod? Seems like a really nice rod for the price. Keep in mind I love the 7 foot length as I fish a lot from bank and kayak. So I don't want anything 7'4'', ETC. 

Or should I step up to a Fury or Bass X ( I already own both, just not in a H power)

First welcome aboard. My pick would be the bass x. But I’m a St Croix fan.

I've been using the 7' Aird-X H/F for frogging, flipping, pitching and heavy topwater (WP-110+, Super Spook, etc) for three years now.

 

It's done the job, but I'm looking to upgrade to the Fury 735 this coming winter.

Sadly they don’t make a H in 7… only 7’4”

I use a 7' 3" and 7' 4" frog rod from my kayak. I was using a 7' 11" swimbait rod from my kayak this morning. 

 

I don't know about the Aird X, but I've used a 7' H/F Ethos from Academy for frogging before and it does well enough and can be found for around that price range.

I dont know about the new Bass X but St. Croix rods are typically under rated. A M is more a MH and MH is more like an H. They do make 7'1" MH rods in both new and old Bass X.
