Anybody air brush soft plastics when you just can't find the color soft plastic off the shelf ?

It'd have to be a paint that would remain very flexible when dry...otherwise the action would be totally lost and you end up with a 'hard bait'.

You know, you’re right and I never even thought about it. I was thinking along the lines of the paint melting the plastic on contact or just adherence to it.

What I would do instead of paint

 

Get several colors of a plastic worm dye and try mixing them to create new colors.

JJ's Magic and Spike It are limited in their color selection

Looks like worm dye and Q-Tips are the way to go ...

I’ve read about it on a well known tackle building site that is owned by Lure Parts Online that I can not post on here.

 

You can go to their site to the bottom of the page forth column to the right second line down.

I can’t imagine not finding the right color. Seems like I’ve seen millions!!!!!
