Fishing slump

Featured Replies

It's been just over a week since I hooked anything, and I've thrown the kitchen sink.

Worms, Ned rigs, crankbaits, jerkbaits, swimbaits, spinner baits, etc.

Nothing is working

I KNOW the fish are there, I just can NOT get them to bite.

That’s rough man! I’m not sure what to tell ya, maybe stick with a certain lure, like a shakey head, for longer instead of the kitchen sink? They have to eat a some point, unfortunately it could be that they only eat about once a week!

Next week will improve things.  We're gonna have a warming trend sunday to Thursday.

I'm going out today ahead of yet another cold front with a powerbait red crawfish and a Ned rig.  If I don't get a bite, I'll just come home and sit it out til Monday.

I haven't caught anything since November.  So I'd gladly take a week long fishing slump at this point.

Though this time of year is always bad for me.  The sun is only up while I'm at work.  The weekends are almost always too windy for my kayak.  I can occasionally fish a large pond (small lake) from the bank near my work on my lunch break, but it's frequently iced over.   Just being able to get out on the water for a day to get skunked would be nice.

But I do sympathize with you.  It's a tough time of year.  We finally have a warm weekend (that same front you're looking at, but arriving a day sooner), but I probably won't make it out because I'm going to be installing a trolling motor on my kayak this weekend.  I have to build a mount, a control box, run a bunch of wires where I have not access, etc.

I’m not sure the water temp. but when I struggle for a bite in the winter, I usually slow down even more or go to one of the extremes on bait size.

I would pay $ 25 + tax + shipping for all of them.in 1 order.

Too cold?

I'm really looking forward to the warming trend next week to get these fish back to biting.

It’s not the cold that’s a problem it’s the ice
