So, I want to get into the newest technology in sonar and I'm torn between Garmin Livescope and Lowrance Active Target. 

Anyone with either, or both, of these units care to help me with my decision? 

I have all Lowrance sonar on the boat right now. (Reveal 5 & 7) 

I will also be using this for the hardwater as well.

And I'm aware that the Reveal units I ha e won't support Active Target.  

I would get the Lowrance if you are already familiar with the way they work. That's just me though, I put Shimano reels on Shimano rods because I'm OCD like that.

Garmin is the trend setter in this category , the rest are using Garmins old technology. 
 

It's like cell phones, get what you're use to using.

I've owned nothing but Garmin and certain that'll be my next unit.

Garmin hands down if your going for live. I’m a Bird fan but if and when I decide to add live to my boat it will be Garmin.

Garmin, the new update made livescope so clear.  Compared to other units, garmin is the clearest. 

When I looked up the differences etc between AT and LiveScope, there was a pretty good argument that was made that Lowrance AT can see further out in multiple videos comparing the two FFS.

 

I went with AT because I had new HDS units so it made sense.
