Strike King Chick Magnet

Featured Replies

Looking at the Strike King Chick Magnet crank bait it looks identical to the Rapala OG Slim…what exactly is the difference (besides colors)?

Been chucking one along side the og and lc1.5, the one thing that stood out to me about the chick magnet is how slow it rises on a pause, very slow as opposed to the lc1.5 which floats very fast, og slightly slower, also the og runs deeper than both, could be the difference some days, nice to have choices.

Balsa wood lures are “livelier” plastic lures are “noisier”.

The Chick Magnet is smaller, thinner, and rattles. It really doesn't look, sound, or run like the OG in person.

I thought they looked a lot a like also. I was surprised when they showed up.

Chick magnet has a much more pronounced wiggle than OG.

That rate of rise at rest is just as important, if not more so than the tight wiggle in cold water. I have a couple of "non-flat sided" plastic cranks that do very well in the early season. I like the SK 1.5, but more for bouncing off wood later on.

Wow, those don't look anything like the picture do they! They are actually closer in size/shape to a Spro Little John aren't they.

If you don’t have either buy one of each and do the comparison. Thanks for the heads up. I fished OG-6 last season and picked up some fish on it. Gonna keep fishing it. All season bait for me. I’ll pick up a chick magnet when I get around some. Hopefully they have a couple Shad choices.

Is the Green Gizzard Shad really more of a ghost type coloration? Online it looks mostly translucent.
