Coloring Pork Baits

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I have some jars of white pork trailers, of different shapes and styles. I would like to dye them a dark color, and make them black, brown, dark blue or dark purple color.                                                    I've heard that RITT dye can be used for this. What's the best way to color these pork rind baits?

I use RIt liquid dye mixed 1 to 1 warm water and leave over night. Save the deluded dye.

Dark Brown #25

Black #15

Purple

Scarlet #5

Mix the Dark and Scarlet to get barn red crawdad color

This is the type of stuff that is like GOLD.

Certain there was some trial & error in getting that 'formula' just right.

I second the Rit dye method. I've been using it for years.

Always used RIT liquid dye and it works good diluted or not and ends up the same color over night on pork rind.

Never tried dying soft plastics wit RIT.
