Keuka Lake Smallmouth in June.

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I'll be spending 4 days fishing Keuke Lake June 11-14 and am looking for some tips. I typically, meaning always and only, fish the Susquehanna river in 4-7 feet of water so I'm expecting this lake fishing to be different. I've stocked up on some stuff I don't usually use, picked up some white/purple and green pumpkin senkos and some top water frogs for this trip. Have really everything else- cranks, tubes, paddle tails, jerks, ratt-ls, spinner baits, chatter baits, etc. for smallmouth fishing. My plan is wake up, fish till lunch, ski till dinner, fish till dark. That avoids fishing in the blazing heat during the afternoon. I've read online to look for 10-20 feet of water during the morning and try the top water bite at night.

Anyone with any Keuke Lake experience in June willing to share some tips for this experience? I'd really like to not have 4 days of skunk-fest on this trip. Get skunked on the river, no big deal as I'll be back again next weekend to right that wrong. Get skunked in Keuka for 4 days and I'll be furious as I don't know when I'll be back.

Thank you in advance for any tips you're willing to offer.

Never been there but If all else fails drag a tube or finesse worm on bottom. I personally don’t even wait for all else to fail, I just start with dragging

Jordan were are you putting in at? Your just missing me. I’ll be up there 7th to the 9th. From Penn Yan to the bluff is always good place to start off. It will be completely different than the Susq. It’s a deep lake 187’ at the deepest with a average of 111’

Pm me and I’ll share some good spots.
