I'm from western PA originally and never really fished the eastern side of the state.  I'm in NJ now and working my way through the NJ lakes.  I bought a PA license this year to fish with my dad back home so that opens up eastern PA for me.  Anything worth targeting?  Obviously the Delaware is already on the list.  I'm in a kayak so Wallenpaupack might not make the list but any other suggestions?

i think a perfect lake for you in a kayak is a place called THE GIVING POND. its right off the delaware river a few miles away from lake nockamixon(which is also good). but the pond is about 100acres and very scenic. another place is Leaser Lake, electric only lake. both are fun lakes and good kayak fisheries

also for reference, my kayak is motorized so I don't mind reservoirs up to 800 acres or so for a day trip. I fish 2000+ acres here but it takes a couple trips to learn them. 800 I can fish most in a day unless it’s super long and skinny. 

I second the giving pond suggestion. Unfortunately I have not been there in several years, since my job is no longer down there, but it was one of my go-tos when I frequented the area.
 

Not only are there plentiful largemouth of size, there are some serious channel cats in there as well. It’s one of the better places in this area for bank fishing, with LOTS of accessible shoreline. Having a kayak is even better though.

 

You could also try Brady’s lake, up here in my neck of the woods. From my experience the QUANTITY isn’t really there, if you’re looking for nonstop action, but the quality is. Early morning and evening, right before dark, for optimal results. I’ve gotten skunked more than a few times fishing in the middle of the day off the dam. If nothing else I enjoy it more than some of the other well-known lakes in the Poconos due to there being far less activity in comparison. 

If you were thinking about Wallenpaupack or going up that way, you might want to take a look Shohola Lake.  It's about 20 minutes from Wallenpaupack down RT 6 East.   It's an electric motor only lake.  You see a lot of kayaks on some of them fishing.  There are some big bass in it, but you might have to fight your way through the chain pickerel to get to them.  Some big chain pickerel too.  Less crowded during the week at the launch ramps.  The second ramp would be your best place to launch.

I have never bass fished marsh creek but, that could be a good option if you have not tried it. Leaser was better a few years ago but, has solid fish in it. Sorry I am late to the punch with this.
