I use the original Baitmate with anise oil.

Yes, believe it can make a difference in enticing a bite on slower presentations.

Is it absolutely essential ?  Debatable.

Search “scent” enjoy your reading.

Been using the new bait fuel and think it might help but can’t say for sure.  Tried in a pond back to back same lure etc and picked up a couple extra bites

I want to try the new bait fuel mainly because I'm intrigued by its lack of scent to humans. Over the years I've tried several...baitmate, bang, berkley...only one I've decent results with is JJs magic but that could be the color as much as the scent. I haven't used any for a few years mainly because they are messy and I haven't noticed that much of a difference honestly.

So I just watched a video the glen did about sense and attractants and it made sense I would try to attach a link for it but I’m not that teck savy lol  but with that sed  there many things to take in Consideration like oil Nicotine are two things that would turn the bass off versus other sense but knowing exactly what does work primarily are pretty much all the techniques that we do know and implement while we’re fishing the scent is one of the last things the fish or bass will recognize

i think this is it

Going to try some different stuff I’ll have to give updates on how thay all work

I still haven’t bought in to the “attractant” mindset but think there is probably something to it being a masking agent.  You could get a MRSA from some of these nasty fishermen.

100% pure anise oil from a drug store isn’t harmful to humans. Glycerin oil isn’t harmful nor is fresh garlic.

The 3 above ingredients is what I have used for decades to catch thousands of bass.

Do your studies and testing, mine are over a 60 year time period.

Bass use their other senses 1st, sight, vibration detection via lateral line nerves, hearing and then scent at close distances, no reason to add a negative to artificial lures.

I never noticed any change in the amount of bites I was getting so I quit using attractant.
