I just picked two nice tomatoes this morning. We've had a good amount of rain in my area, and the plants are doing well so far. These are two early varieties my wife wanted to try out this year. Not my favourites but I can't complain.                      August is the big month for tomatoes here. We usually have a bunch by early to mid August. Looks like some BLT sandwiches will happen soon. Ive always liked a good BLT, with some fresh homegrown tomatoes.         I'll also add that my son in laws crops are doing very well also. The corn crop is thick, and dark green in color. Soybeans have shot up in the last two weeks and looking good also. I'm always thankful for him when he has a good crop, and I hope it continues doing well until harvest time.                                   So, how's your garden doing? Have you been able to harvest anything yet?

We have tomato, kale, chive, parsley, basil and strawberry growing. Chive has basically came back yearly for a few years now,

 

Tomatoes are green, but only a matter of time. Like you, Mo, nothing beats a good BLT with fresh tomato.

 

Had kale last night for dinner. 

 

I think this is our 3rd year trying for strawberry. We'll get a few, but not a ton. 

 

Basil & parsley are always desirable in an Italian/American household.  

 

I'm thinking blueberry bushes next year.

Just did tomatoes and cucumbers this year Still waiting on both but I should have some ripe tomatoes very soon

hot peppers are loading up and zucchini and yellow squash are solid.  Beets are ready to be picked as are string beans.  Tomatoes are turning red and watermelon should be good in a few weeks.  Already picked a load of lettuce already too

 

All in all doing ok...

Wife is out tonight giving away cucumbers already.  Lots of tomatoes very soon.  Lost all but one cabbage to worm/slug things.  Thought we'd been pretty careful about checking it daily, but they've been bad.  Storm a week ago had all the corn bent over to the ground; it has been staked and looks great now.  Snap peas usually get eaten before we make it back to the house.   Carrots and potatoes look good - should have some of each in next week or two.

I had some weird happenings with my cucumbers this year.  They were growing fine but they are realy pale green and not the normal dark color.  They taste like crap as well.  Oh well....it is what it is I guess.

Tomatoes are doing well, still waiting on the cucumbers.

 

i'm taking a break this season.  we grew stuff at my office, so i can get tomatos from there.

 

last two seasons, i grew the full spectrum of tomatoes i like and tried growing a "smoking product" for the first time.  i dont smoke at all due to my asthma, but it was fun as heck to grow (legally).  trimming wasnt so fun.  i gave it all away for free.

 

some random rogue tomato popped up a month ago and right when  was going to yank it out, my wife blocked me and put a cage over it.  so we do have one.  

Lots of cherry tomatoes and a few beefsteak and romas. Got a few cantaloupes and 2 watermelons on the vines. Jalapenos are producing a lot but they're very small for some reason. Cilantro did well but it was our first time doing it and didn't know you have to keep cutting it so it went to seed and was no good anymore so we pulled it. Also did a tomatillo, which looks great with lots of blooms, but turns out you have to have 2 of them for them to produce any fruit so I guess it will just be a pretty plant in our garden. 

This year I did everything from seed. Tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, lots of basil, cilantro, oregano, and I even planted a watermelon seed that has grown like crazy. Have a couple small watermelons forming that I really hope to harvest. The growing season isn’t very long in upstate NY.
