I was stunned at how small the lake was, for whatever reason I had built the lake up to being huge in my mind.     I can't imagine how pressured that lake was during the heyday of WR chasing.   

You’re right, I just compared it to the lake I’m on, and I consider our lake to be quite small compared to so many others within an hour of me. I can darn near cover my whole shoreline in a full day if I never picked up the trolling motor and just kept fishing along. That lake must’ve been like a Walmart on a busy weekend when it was in its heyday!

Hope you guys are having a decent Holiday. No fishing today or yesterday. Had no intensions. Was not gonna deal with any holiday yahoos on the water. 
 

Had a couple decent days at the end of the week. Thursday a few nice smallies, Friday picked up two nice river Largemouths fishing the same stretch as the prior day. I’ll try to pick up the pieces again on Wednesday. 
 

We are getting some well deserved rain now. Hard stuff tomorrow. Should help the river some as long as it’s not flash floods. See that some of you guys are getting hammered and has been destructive. Stay safe. 
 

Didn’t have a huge blow-out today. Kids, grandkids and a couple close neighbors. Decent time. Grilled some good eats. 

Went fishing, skunksville.  Cooked some poke chops, fabalous. Happy Labor Day!

Went out to a pond this morning for about 6 hours.  Off and on drizzle all day.  I managed 4 small bass, and one bass that wasn't doing so good.  If healthy it might have gone 3 pounds, but this one looked like it had a run in with one of the great blue herons that live around there.

It was a beautiful day here in south Arkansas today, 89 and sunny. I don't fish on weekends or holidays as a rule. To many people on the water for me. Some of the kids came over and we cooked out. I made a kick butt key lime pie if I do say so myself.

It was a nice Labor Day here in south Florida on the beach early AM, tagging sharks for NOAA....it's what I do when I am not bass fishing. Popper gets the job done! Everglades is like an oven so I'm kinda lettin it cool off a bit before I hit it again. Cooler months on the horizon!
