Walmart Ozark Trail plastic worms

Featured Replies

I’ve starting using the ‘Ozark Trail’ plastic worms from Walmart. They’re a lot tougher than Zoom’s, less expensive and catch just as many bass. Opinions??

I bought 20 packs in assorted colors for .25 per pack on clearance. I still have some, and gave some away.                                                   Here's a fix for these: put a pan of water on the stove, and bring to a boil. Drop the worms in the boiling water for a few seconds. Then lay them out straight on a paper towel. This will soften them up. Add a shot of your favourite scent spray before you fish them to make them slick and shiny.

I use the hammer hogs whenever I can find them.

The fish don't care what brand of lure you use.

I've used the hammer hogs and the keitech style swimbaits. I wish my local Walmarts carried the ribbon tail worms. They look like they would work.

Way back in the 80's, Walmart's house brand soft plastics were called "Renegade". They had a motor oil color that was second to none. I should look and see if Ozark Trail has the same color. I don't know who actually made them, but I wish I did.

I don't recall ever seeing Ozark Trail branded worms at the Wal Marts here (central Texas). I only recall Ocho's, some Zoom stuff, maybe Culprits if you catch them on the right day.

I will never ever buy any Ozark Trail products. All they do is copy from real fishing companies that I would rather give my money too.

I couldn't agree more, all bait companies copy each other. I've seen one of the Ozark Trail baits in question, the "Hammer Hog". While I've not seen every creature bait ever made, I've never seen one with the body of the Hammer Hog.

I knew that was coming. I understand what you are saying. I try to never give Walmart my money...how about that?

For me - add Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A to that list.

How can you possibly dislike the Lord’s chicken?

I mean it’s been months since I had Chick-Fil-A but I like it. Bojangles is even better. You’re so far up North I dunno if you know Bojangles ?

I prefer secular places of business.

I actually didn't know Chick-Fil-A was truly religiously rooted. I really need to get out more. Of course I heard it called "The Lord's Chicken" but didn't know everything bout it besides it also being closed on Sundays... yeah it lines up.

Understand your preference now, it's all good!
