You convince her that you both need a 'fun allowance' out of the household budget. Agree that neither will ask the other what they spent their allowance on.

 

After hemming and hawing a bit, mine agreed to this...starting next month.

In a 2 hour trip I will minimally throw 6 different rods.  Baits may change as well.  If I am out longer then add more.  Exceptions are if the frog bite is on, it'll be all frogs but even then I throw a few different ones.

As many as it takes until I start getting bit. I usually start with a moving bait and work my way to slower and smaller presentations.

 

Yesterday was tough: spinnerbait, swim jig, arkie jig, Texas rig (zoom trick worm, speed craw, yum wooly bug), shakey head finesse worm, weightless stick bait... So... 8. Had one on the spinnerbait and lost it. Swung on one each on the shakey head and stick bait and missed.

My wife and I keep separate bank accounts.  She has also known me since we were both 16, so there are few surprises.  I am one of those people who have 8-10 new ideas a day.  Unfortunately, only one or two of them are good. ?
