Has anyone used FINS windtamer braid before? I was kinda a Jbraid guy before but the line is really soft and often wraps around the tip but it casts pretty well. Any reccomendations?

Never used it, cannot tell how many strands it has.  I really like 8 strands or more.  Tackle Warehouse reviews are all positive except one that says the color runs all over everything.  Comments include that it's a little stiffer than other braids.  

I myself have never tried it but I’m sure WRB(Tom) will chime in on this one. 
He’s spoke of fins braid before. 

Take a look at Fins Sling Braid, 8 ends. What # test? Spin Braid is 5 ends good 10 # to 15#.

Never heard of Fins color running or experienced it. Daiwa Samurai braid colors run!

i think im pikcing up the windtamer in 20 pound

I have 20# Fins Windtamer green on one spinning reel.  I would recommend it, but not a lot different than PP.  Holds color just fine.  Surprisingly noisy,  considering it feels fairly smooth.  Funny, considering the Windtamer name....I got one of the worst wind knots in years the second time out with it.  Coincidence, though....it hasn't been any better or worse in the wind than other braids.

Thanks, Tom.  I hadn't realized that.  Interesting concept.   If I was going to engineer different braids for casting and spinning, I'd have no clue where to begin making them different. 

When I go into my local tackle shop to by Trilene they keep recommending different braids.  I tried some windtamer.   It laid on the reel nicely but as others have said it was noisy.  Either I was having real bad luck while using it or it's easy to damage.   I got a lure stuck on the limb on a laydown and was jiggling it to get it loose.  The line broke, 10 feet or more from the lure with almost no pressure.  I had used it for a couple trips, it's not like it was years or even months old.  I fish around lay downs, and rocks often but don't have problems like that with other line.  

 

 

No experience with windtamer but I'm a fan of Fins infinity. It's 8 strand, smooth, colorfast black, super quiet through the guides. As far as tip wraps go, it's just part of the deal with braid. You'll get less the more you use it, but it's gonna happen occasionally. That said, I get less with 832 than with other whispier braids. 832 is more abrasion resistant too. That Gore fiber lives up to the hype IMO.
