Spinning reel recommendations?

Featured Replies

You can't go wrong with stradic or tatula lt, I got tatula lt just because I liked the colors more, but again both are good. Tatula is quite a bit lighter also! Stradic is slightly smoother

So, I've got about $200 for a new spinning reel. I've got some good casting reels but only a low end Shimano spinning reel. I'll be putting it on a Dobsyn medimu/light Fury rod. Bass where I live are 1.5-2 lbs. mostly. Been wanting a decent reel for awhile. I'd appreciate some recommendations. The $200, believe it or not is part of my medicare advantage plan I have with my insurance provider. They authorize a lot of 'healthy recreational' type of stuff. I'm not sure where the fishing reels tie in with backpacks, bikes, and walking sticks but hey... And it's use it or lose it by the end of the year. Thanks in advance.

Best value for money:  Ryobi Zauber 1000 series. Shares the same basic project as the Stella 2008. There is a mod here who don't like the fact, neither is able to contradict it.

I know you've mentioned this reel quite a bit. I wish I could just hold it in hand though. I may take a gamble ordering one ...

Favorite reel: Stella 1000FK

Best value:  Stradic 1000HGFL

With the exchange rate of the yen what it is of late run, don't walk, to a JDM Ultegra or Stradic.  They are both a real treat to use, well engineered and smooooth.  Pick your favorite JDM dealer but Digitaka is my personal favorite.  As of this writing I think the Stradic is 150.00ish and the Ultegra around 25.00 less.  Beware though, nice reels at the current pricing are addictive.

Bass pro Carbon light 2.0. Great reels for the money

For around $200 don't miss out on the 2020 Daiwa Luvias 2500... probably the best reel you're going to get for this price range right now... buy from JDM source they can be had for right around this price range!

Excellent reel!

Only so inexpensive now because the new model is out and the exchange rate is awesome.
