Are these the best rods Dobyns makes for the money?

I have no idea, but I’d guess yes. I snagged a demo Xtasy 755 last year for a little less than the price of an extreme. I love it a lot more than my champions or fury’s that’s for sure.  To me looking for deals on dobyns is necessary because I feel they’re all a bit over priced, which is probably just the warranty cost.

All dobyns rods are great values for the price. You get what you pay for. At this point I'm happy with Sierra Micro SERIES

Dobyns 20% off right now at Fishing Online

To me, I would say it depends on how you plan to use them. I like the extra sensitivity of the Champion Extreme for certain bottom contact tecniques like jigs and worms. However, I wouldn't spend the extra money for other techniques.

I've got various levels of Dobyns rods for various techniques. In my opinion, a Fury works fine for moving baits like spinnerbaits or buzzbaits, or even a 705cb for mid depth cranks. I use my Sierra 734c for swim jigs or things I want a little slower action like my 682c for topwater poppers. I like my Champion CB rods for the variety they offer (704cb, 705cb, 735cb glass and 736cb glass), but have to give credit to the Champion 734c for the variety of things it does well.

I guess I'm saying that determining bang for the buck really depends on how you plan to use it.

I’d say that component wise, the HP is quite a jump from the XP.

The problem is that feel and sensitivity are so subjective. What I love you may feel is a club. I can’t use a Fury, sold my HP, but love my regular Sierra’s.

The $200 Falcons are more sensitive to ME than the HP. I would bet a lot of guys on here would disagree, as we are all different.

While I feel my Cara is more sensitive, man, does the HP look good.

I need to try a Cara! I hear a LOT of good things on those rods. The only Falcon rods I have tried are a couple Lowrider spinning rods I picked up used.

The blanks are great. Build quality is good as well. It’s not finished as nice as my Kistler’s, but as nice as my Pride rods. It is as sensitive as a Pride though.
