Snow birds

Cosmo and I went for a midday pheasant hunt in the fresh snow today.  At the first spot I missed a layup and was swearing at myself, but more chances presented themselves as the hunt continued, and I dumped three really nice roosters in about 90 minutes at two different spots.  All three of them have really long tail feathers.  I also raised a gray fox, something I haven't seen in years.  My dog turned 10 this past February and she doesn't quite have the endurance she used to, but she is still doing a fine job out there.

One of these years she will not be able to physically do it anymore.  That is going to be a sad day. ?

Very cool. I'm so impressed by people that can train dogs well. Must be a blast to get out and work together with her. Love it.

Very nice birds and personally love hunting them in ❄️.

Must be something to those Benelli's.

Our last hunt, my buddy shot 75% of the birds with his while I made noise with my Remington.

Oh well, he gave me every bird we " he " shot.

Hope the pooch has an extended career.
