Possible rod damage?

Featured Replies

I recently got a Sixth Sense Lux spinning rod and noticed a spot on the rod. I was wondering if the spot would lead to problems down the road. There is no damage to the outside of the rod, so I figured it was made like that. Do you guys have any thoughts on this?

I would return it.

Looks like it was crushed somehow. The line that cuts through the tape spirals heading to the right of the main mark is what concerns me.

Send them the pic and see what they say.

And then return it.

Yeah it might be fine and that's just cosmetic, or it might be a weak spot and cause a catastrophic failure, return it.

I agree! I would definitely talk to them about it. If they say there is no issue get a name and record the date and time in case there is an issue in the future.

Update: Thanks guys I’m returning it just in case.

Who cares if it's cosmetic ? It's not right .

If it doesn't come to me brand new in reasonably perfect condition, it gets returned until they get it right. Nobody would purposefully buy that rod, so don't feel bad at all.
