BassPro Carbonlite. 2.0 Baitcaster

Featured Replies

Good evening,

Does anyone use the BassPro Carbonlite 2.0 Baitcaster? If so, what are your impressions?

Thanks

I bought a couple several years ago. They got "geary" pretty fast. I wasn't impressed. You'd be better off buying a Lew's in the same price range IMO.

Had mine for a few years. I really like it. I would buy another one . I really like the Winn grips

I’ve used a couple of Carbonlite 2.0 reels. For $130 they are decent. Would rather have a Lews KVD, SLX XT, or a JDM Tatula 80/100 for that price though. The rods are pretty nice too. Back when you could get the combo for 180 it was a good deal. Idk if they still are or if they went up but you can’t go wrong with the Carbonlite

It’s a doyo clone but, This is the 5th season that I’ve had mine.  I bought the rod and reel combo on sale for $174 right after Christmas 2019.  Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about it. I’ve use it so much that’s it’s time to change out the drag discs and I’m upgrading to carbontex.

It’s one of my most used reels.  I’d feel better about buying it if you can snag it while it’s on sale.  Buying At full price for the reel you’re getting into better reels for the money

I too have a Carbonlite 2.0 combo In medium/fast. I’ve had it for several years as it was one of my first when I started getting serious about bait casters. I’ve enjoyed mine very much. I find it very easy to adjust for different lure weights and conditions but honestly I didn’t fiddle with it very often as I mainly had a 3/8 ounce lipless crank or spinner bait tied on. I feel they’re a good bang for buck especially if you catch it on sale and BPS has a great warranty to boot.
