You’ve got the budget for something custom: your pick of blank, seat, grip material / length / design, colors…   message me if you want to talk about it

What do you mean you “built out” an 844 to 7’2?

Loomis used to sell the blank alone.  I extended the butt section with a little hunk of a donor rod to get me a little more butt length.  I am tall and need longer butts than most.  The 904 is the same.  Extended the rear.

For a heavy rod for jigs I have a nrx + 844c and Megabass orochi perfect pitch.  I’d say the 844c is probably better at dragging jigs and the perfect pitch a tad more crisp if I’m stroking a jig. Reread your post and saw the price point. I’ve heard good things about 844 c in other models to get within that $

I can’t imagine throwing more than 1/2oz jig on my conquest 844. To me, it’s certainly not a “big jig” rod.

When I'm fishing with jigs that heavy I'll probably be punching.  The rod I use is an old HF Daiwa Procaster.

Picking up a falcon expert amistad XH tomorrow. It’ll do for that if needed I think.
This will be my big jig rod with 20lb Sniper, Punching rod with 65lb braid, and Chad Shad rod with 20-25lb mono.

Thanks for all the input guys. I found out on Thursday that I need hernia surgery. Scheduled for the 28th. This was the only thing that could stop the bait monkey ?
