Wells Catfish.  There is an episode of River Monsters when Jeremy Wade targets them, in Spain I believe.  Voracious predator that grows to immense size.

In one episode he targeted them in the cooling pond near Chernobal. He also fished for giant catfish in the Ganges River in India...they were called "gounch" or something like that.

I've seen that one too.  I don't think that was a Wells Catfish though.  I can't remember what subspecies it was.  The Goonch catfish actually have sharp teeth whereas most other catfish just have a raspy sandpaper-type mouth.

Giant catfish that lives in a muddy river where human remains are always available for consumption?  I'll pass....
