Striper net issues

Featured Replies

I just got started into striper fishing and am looking for a good net.  I’m on a lake and have quickly realized my old nylon net can be dangerous when trying to remove the fish and treble hooks.  The hooks seem to dig into the nylon everywhere.  Does everyone use a net for strippers when fishing out of bass boat or just lip them.  What might be a good rubberized mid price net I could buy?  Thanks!

Lip grippers are another option but a rubber net is the best.  Stripers don't hold still when lipped like bass.

I use a rubber net.  I picked it up years ago on clearance at Bass Pro Shops and works  perfectly with the Stripers.

I have a drifter xl net I use for musky that I am sure would be great for stripers.

Be aware that a big rubber net can be heavy. If possible, go to a store to check them out before you buy one.

One of the guys with whom I fish has a big net that is coated with some sort of rubber and has a telescopic handle.  It isn’t really heavy but takes up a lot of space.

I think he said it was from Cabela’s.
