I generally agree with all lof this except dropping the meds part as @MN Fisher stated.  That part was a foolish generalization on your part.  Tons of people take life-saving prescribed medicine on a daily basis.

The rest of your post I agree with.  Exercise, adequate sleep, and eating a balanced diet most of the time will go a long ways.

I should have worded my statement with "strive" to drop the meds.  Let's get back to fishing.

I posted about my nephew Kyle. He suffered with anxiety for quite a while. Once he was diagnosed, and given the right meds, he was able to improve his life tremendously.

I've learned that anxiety disorder is pretty common, especially in younger men.  In my nephews case, he couldn't keep a job for much more than two weeks. His doctor told us that many things which most of us would consider easy, were a huge struggle for him. Just getting up and getting ready for work, caused him much anxiety.                                             The correct meds, and, a lot of positive encouragement from his family helped this. Now, he excels at things that were almost impossible for him to do before. I think he'll continue to do well from here. Even the doctors can't explain exactly why this happens to people., but it can really shut people down.

My wife wont let me become a stoner again, she got very upset when i tried gummies last year with THC in them.☹️
