While poking around an antique shop, I found a Mann's Razorback crankbait in a fire tiger pattern. It looks kinda old and a little rough. I've removed all the hooks and split rings, plus gave it a bath. I picked it up for $2.00.

 

Has anyone ever heard of this crankbait?

I had several back in the day . They were decent baits . There were a long bill's and squarebill's.  Sometimes there would be one that did not wiggle , strange .No matter what I'd do it just would not tune.

Thank you for your reply. Mine is a long bill, around the length of a Bandit 200. I'll replace the hooks and hardware and see if it runs true. If so, I'm going to have it repainted.

Razorback was Mann’s line of crankbaits in the 1970s, around the time of the rise in popularity of the ‘alphabet style’ plugs. They had both a shallow and deep diver, and eventually made a scaled down version called the Piglet. These morphed into some of the Hackleback lineup, and then eventually the Plus Series of crankbaits (10+, 15+, 20+, 30+) in the 80s.

It’s the only crank my wife will use in water under 8ft. deep. I had two, I lost one, I haven’t heard the end of that, and she keeps the other one where I can’t find it.
