I'm looking to purchase a few new rods and am curious to opinions on the Carbonlite 2.0 series vs the St. Croix Triumph vs Fenwick HMG series of rods.  Not any specific model, just the rod quality in general. I've never owned the Carbonlite rods, but like the warranty and hear good things about them.  I owned a couple St. Croix rods and was happy with them until they were lost in a canoe misshap a number of years ago.  I still have a couple of Fenwick HMX rods and like the way the feel, but did have one snap pretty easy on me.  Fenwick was great on the warranty issue though.

I own a few carbonlite 2.0 series rods, like them a lot , 1 issue being 2 of the 3 I own are starting to turn yellow. For that reason, I would probably not buy another. 
I own 1 fenwick HMG spinning rod I like a lot, good quality , use it frequently for finess stuff.

Have owned the carbonlite 2.0 in spinning and casting. Good rods, plenty sensitive for me, nice actions, comfortable winn grips, solid over the counter warranty. Only reason I sold them was to move back to two piece rods for maximizing versatility for my lifestyle.

 

Have also owned the fenwick hmg two generations ago. Really well balanced, sensitive, nice action, good build quality. Regret selling it. Checked out the newer ones, wasn't impressed. I see they are coming out with a new model.now, but haven't seen them in person yet. I would definitely play with them when I see them in stores.

 

Also owned and sold St croix Mojo and avid x rods. I liked them when I had them but I did not find the Mojo overly comfortable and the micro guides on the avid x were not for me. I hear the newer ones aren't tip heavy, but haven't played with them.

 

My current rods are Daiwa Rebellion in spinning and casting as well as their aird x in casting. Really liking those rods. Very light, sensitive, comfortable, great actions, very well built. I will be keeping these for awhile I think.

 

I like trying different things. Some are hits, some are misses. I don't keep what I don't use.

What is your budget ball park? Lots of good rod available $150-$200 price range.

BPS Carbonite rods are contracted to the builders in China , every year is different.

Fenwick is no longer a company, it’s Pure Fishing brand, also contracted to China.

St Croix is a American company in Wisconsin, lower to mid range rods built in Mexico, Majority made in Wisconsin, good customer service and warranty.

I don’t own any except the HMG and I have 7 of them so I guess I like them.

I'm not really on a strict budget, but would probably stick to the $100 to $150 per rod range.

Suggest St Croix Mojo Bass being cleared for their new Trigon series.

I have a carbonlite combo bait caster, I really like it. It’s all around a great set up. I am looking to get another one. I can’t speak for your other choices, but their reputation speaks for themselves.   

Although I no longer own the combo I had a 7’-0” 2.0 casting combo In medium power. I’ll agree with everything @LCG said about them and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another rod from the series.
