Expride B 7’3 XH

Featured Replies

Anyone own this rod? Thought about picking one up strictly for frog fishing. Is it a broom stick?

Currently using an ALX toadface which works for light cover and open water but would like some more power for the thick stuff.

It’s not a broom stick but it certainly is a hammer. I love mine. I’ll be buying a second just for flipping. My first is a dedicated frog rod. Amazing stick

Are you buying it for him?

Buying used off someone for half price. If you don’t have anything to share, why comment…?

I have the "A" version of this rod and I love it for frog fishing. Not sure what the biggest difference is between the A and B, but I love mine. In summer I skip frogs and in the winter I flip jigs with it. It's a great dual purpose rod IMO.

Didn't realize my comment would get so many people up in arms! You're obviously welcome to do whatever you want. As far as something to share, my comment was implying that you don't need tons of sensitivity that the Expride provides to fish a frog and you could likely get equal performance from a cheaper rod, which would save you money to spend elsewhere. That was my reply to your question about frog fishing with an Expride. But as stated, you can obviously do whatever you'd like. Makes no difference to me

The A version is my goto frog, heavy jig/swim jig, pitching, and texsposed (magdraft freestyle) soft swimmer rod.
