WEC vs Black Label

Featured Replies

I haven't fished my WEC's since Ed Chambers passed away.  I'm not sure what they will be worth in 40+ years, but they are special and Ed painted and signed every bait.  Is each Black Label exactly like its WEC counterpart? If they  are identical, I see noreason to fish the WEC's.  I even saved the Zoom packaging they came in.  I hope the answer is yes.

Cliff Pace bought the Duplicators from the Chambers family so they are as close as we are going to get.

I fish my WEC's but I understand the collector side of it also.

Yea, I knew he bought the duplicaters.  Don't know much about Mr Pace, but saw an interview with him after a tourny where he used a black label/wec model to win.  He said "I hand  craft these baits...when I have the time.  It's kind of a hobby gone wrong, lol."  Kind of rubbed me the wrong way.  I thought "if I purchased Jeno's Cheesesteaks out of Philly and won a contest with one...I'd give credit where it's due."  Maybe mention you purchased Ed's business and are carrying on his legacy.

I think the Black Label are as close as you are going to find. Cliff bought the duplicator machines and is making the baits in the same way. He does personally make a lot of those baits, just remember he is a full time Pro so he may not be able to do everything himself like Ed did. Cliff did sell me 200 of the DBait style blanks that I just have not been able to get around to finishing like I thought I would.
