  • No colors of the WP work. Stop using them lol

  • You only need 2 colors of top water - white and black.    And what's even more wild - all these colors of top water, the bottom which is what the fish mostly sees is almost always white or b

Keep it simple. Powder, Bone and Loon will cover most water conditions. That being said my biggest bass last year was on the 200 size in Lucy. You can hear that 200 two coves away...

You're right about catching fishermen when it comes to the top of topwater baits colors. But like I said on rarer occasions I believe the fish can see the side of the bait. Besides, many times a topwater bait is partially submerged.

As far as the silver on the side, some bluegill and other panfish tend to give off a silver hue. And I doubt the bass would think too much of it anyways.

I use black and bone. That is the only colors.

^ same

I have bone and bluegill. 0 fish caught and zero confidence. I want to throw it, but just can't convince myself to tie it on again.

Have you tried pausing it and or a twitch - twitch - twitch.

Sometimes this entices a bite over a steady retrieve......so I've found.

I will try that next time I tie it on. Thanks for the tip!

all my best fish this year have been on Choppo 75, 90, or 120. Bone or Black.

Add “Monkey Butt” color and you are covered .

These are my colors I own, Monkey Butt, Loon (black), and Bone. I use Monkey Butt almost 100% of the time.

Honestly I'm not sure if color matters as my friends will use one of the other colors while I use Monkey Butt and we all catch fish.

Maybe because it's a reaction bait and the fish don't get a good look at it.

I have a bunch but got the most action from Monkey Butt ( there’s a joke in there somewhere!! )

but I haven’t gotten bites on a WP in a while - I rarely throw it anymore

maybe I need to revisit  it

Any color for me as long as it's the 130 size. That size seems to make a distinct sound different than the other sizes I have used and it gets crushed while the others get ignored.

Bone, Loon, and Perch for me. Though i recently got a Choppo thats white with a painted red head, and the smallmouth where i fish love that color. So i guess im going to have to paint the Bone Whopper Plopper that color too.

Even if bass aren't hitting a Whopper Plopper, I like the sound of them so much that I'll fish them longer than I should.

That’s the way I feel about jitterbugs. Bloop bloop bloop. Fun to see and hear.
