Power Pro

Featured Replies

what color of power pro do you use? I am looking to buy some, but don't know what color to buy.

If you're planning on using a leader, then you might as well use the most visible line.

I use moss green PowerPro for EVERYTHING, and never use a leader, but that's me.

i love the yellow

i take a black marker and color the last 2 or 3 feet

kb here   green or yellow    i use yellow for most plastics i can line watch yellow  better   hard for me to see green next to the water  and green for everything else   kb

I hate the stuff and dont recomend buying any of it.  I had terrible experiences with it.  More times than what I can mention actually.  But many people have great things to say about it so.  I guess jsut try it yourself.  Good luck with it!

Because Power Pro solved most of the problems with braid they also went thru the learning curve of a nation. Now copy braids get anglers that are educated on spooling tight and backing down the drag and lb. test for application.

Theres a reason why they copy Power Pro.

i like green, good line. the water i usually fish is off-colored so it works good. i have it on my flippin'/pike rod and another worm rod, works great for pulling them out of cover.

If you can't tell us everything, how about a few? Hearing about peoples' experiences helps us all.

Power pro is like used fireline! Limp and liable to wind knots! I really hate this stuff and it is not a durable line.

I do a lot of salt water fishing, the line get wrecked easily if you don't washed it carefully. About abrasion resistance... Well I can say it is not great. The line look like a fireline on my reel after landing several GT's!

I prefer PE japanese braid!

PowerPro is NOT like used Fireline. PowerPro is an awesome line.

To say that it is not abrasion resistant is simply not true. I have

dragged PowerPro through some of the nastiest cover and it comes

out fine every time.

In response to the original question,

I use Moss Green most of the time, but when fishing jigs, Senkos and

baits that line watching is beneficial, I use Hi-Vis Yellow PowerPro.

Whatever color you decide, if you're gonna be fishing near dams or lots of rocks, use a flouro leader because it will cut on the rocks.  Most of my bank fishing is done at dams and I have to check the braid often for weak spots.

i ve used red ,moss green and hi-vis

leader or no leader hi-vis is my favourite and the fish dont seem 2 mind

Ive tried 4 or 5 different braids, and I can cut all but one with my teeth. I cant cut PowerPro with my teeth, so IMO its more abrasion resistant than anything else out there.
