Got the wrong reel, anything I can do?

Featured Replies

The other day I ordered what I thought was gonna be a Miravel 2000 shallow spool for 78 bucks on Amazon. All the other sizes were about 90-100 bucks so I thought I’d be getting a steal for my panfish rod. Well a 2000 size shallow spool Nasci showed up on my door today. It’s a fine reel and that’s about what a jdm nasci goes for anyway. I’m not sure if it is was a mistake on the website or if they just sent the wrong reel. but if I were to return it, does Amazon usually fix that kind of stuff? Or is it not really worth my time? I noticed it went up to 89 bucks for that size now. Anyone else deal with this through them? Thanks

Use their online chat feature and explain what happened. I have had good luck with getting issues like this resolved and they are usually in my favor.

Thanks, yeah it was an easy process. Never made a return through them before. Just gotta drop it off at a UPS.

Was it listed as a miravel in the listing and was it sold from Amazon or another seller?  I’d request a replacement for wrong item sent if it was listed as a mirvel and as for a replacement. Then it doesn’t matter what the price change was.

It was listed as a Miravel by a third party seller. It didn’t give me an option to replace it, unless I didn’t see it. Just to return it for a refund

all of the items that I’ve returned give you a big drop down box. Look at your recent order list. Each one should have “return or replace” as a clickable box. Once you click it you will get a drop-down box for reason coding.
pick “wrong item sent”. Fill in the info and on the next page it should let you chose how to resolve the situation where you pick send replacement.

I never understand posts like this. For goodness sake, contact the retailer you bought it from, explain your situation, and find out what they would do. Either a return for refund or return for the correct reel would be the answer.

He's a younger fellow that hasn't had to deal with an Amazon error before.  Many of us are happy to help him out.  That's just how we are on this forum.
