I have the opportunity to purchase older Curados from 2015-2017 era. They are in great shape. If I can get them for a good deal are they about the same performance as the newer Curados?

That period has a four pin cast control and  a slightly heavier spool if memory serves me right.  There are some additional upgrades on the latest derivation .  With that said, they are good reels and would be nice work horses for you. Flush the bearings and re-oil.

E or I model if they are in good to great working condition, go for it (especially if it is the "E").

I’m still using my curado Is to this day and mine are around the same age as those and I’ve fished them hard.
