GL3 VS IMX

Featured Replies

I was wondering if there where any substantial differences in the the GL3 rods and the IMX rods. Any suggestions

I think the imx is worth the money.  If you get on ebay you can get imx at about the same price as a gl3 from a dealer.

IMX is a BIG step up from GL3 and well worth the extra $. JMHO

I own both and the IMX is well worth the extra $$$. I have a 6-6 MH in the GL3 and the IMX. The IMX is lighter and more sensitive.

Try fatfishfarmer on ebay. A comparision is a 6-6 MH IMX for $156 + $25 S&H and the best deal locally I could get was $200.

IMX is the way to go, GLX is even better but big $$.

GL3 and GL2 are good entry level rods..but you will wish you spent the extra on a IMX

The IMX is what put G. Loomis on the map.

No contest, IMX by far.

Have all three graphites,in spinning, casting, flyrod. If you are the type

that is rough on equipment and throww stuff around choose the gl3

it's a tougher graphite, less brittle than imx or glx.Bought the wife

a gl3 spinning rod with a stradic reel just because of the above statement

takes a little more abuse. ::)
