1st NPFL event with no FFS at Santee Cooper......incredible bags!

If you folks aren't following this event, you should tune in tomorrow.

The field is stacked, no FFS usage, and absolutely monster fish and bags being caught.

I mean they caught 3 bags over 30lbs......33lbs is leading, and Jason Christie is in 2nd with 31lbs.    To many 20lb bags to count.

10.9 big fish, with several 9s to go along with it.

This event is as good as it gets in my book......only negative thus far is John Cox weighed in like 6lbs lol.

My buddy went to santee cooper a few years ago, he said it was the only cypress tree lake he’s ever fished with clear water. He also reported seeing big bass swimming all around  his canoe 😂

Checking it out now

Watching on live is very glitchy.
anyways, I guess watching others fish is just not for me 🤣 . I’ll stick to just checking in occasionally and watching some highlights at end of day.
maybe check out weigh in.

In other news: Smallmouths are being caught well on Kentucky Lake, including 1, 5 pound + (Open series) I’m streaming MLF, it’s rather boring. No power fishing going on. (Lake Murray)

Bill Lowen in the hunt for another win!

I know everything has not been perfect in the coverage, but  it’s getting better, and I’m sure it will improve. Gotta say, I’m a fan.

If nothing else it’s a nice way for some Elites to get in some extra batting practice.

Does the winner get  100 g? I thought I saw that. Maybe I’m wrong. But that would be some incentive!

Yeah 100k to the winner, and then I believe it's another 100k to the AOY winner.

Kyle Welcher won AOY last year.

Confidence is easily the most powerful force in Bass fishing, Bill Lowen is testament to that fact.

It doesn't matter where you fish, what lures you throw, what conditions you're in, if your supremely confident you'll have success without question.

Top 4 right now are all Elite Series guys.

My hope though is that this tour can build stars in house, rather than rely on the star power of Elite Series guys.

That's the thing that the MLF and BASS have going for it, they build anglers from the HS level up.   They've created a farm team program that teaches kids how to become top level pros.

I hear you but splits are never good for a sport.  Just look at what it did to IndyCar and Golf.

Imagine if the winner won $300k instead of $100k.  If the sport wasn't so divided I wonder if we would see an incredible level of professionalism.

I guess one positive is that we get to see three very different formats.  5 best fish, Every fish counts and one period of FFS, and 5 best fish and no FFS.

Hank cherry in the lead?

Bill still in second!
