If the snowstorm doesn't keep me away, I am going to Cabella's tomorrow to review the Fork trip game plan with the Mooks. I plan to pick up some of the magic 'ultra soft' while there.  ;)

You won't be sorry. I followed RW's advice mid season last summer and feel the same as fishbear. Like RW I use 6# on spinning and 12# on baitcast except one rig which has 50# braid.

RW has been telling everyone about Yo Zuri ultra soft  every since I have been on this forum.  He know his stuff.

I picked some up too from his advice for my spinning reel and my girlfriends and seems to be a good choice from playing with it in the house.  Although I dont plan on putting it on my baitcasters because I like braided line too much for that.

I plan on trying it on the Stella and the crankin reel, everything else is spooled with power pro.

I too have put 6lb Ultra Soft on a spinning reel of mine.  I plan to put it head to head with my favorite 6lb P-Line Floroclear to see which one I like better.  So far I have tested both for breaking strength and the Ultra Soft broke at about 11lbs and P-Line at about 10lbs.  The P-Line has a smaller diameter compared to the YoZuri.  It is almost the same as 8lb Floroclear.  All of this could me nothing until I start catching fish but so far the YoZuri looks like a great product.

Do you think I could get away with 8lb. or 10lb. on a spinning reel? I just don't feel safe with 6lb.! :-/ :-/

Eye - I fish the original Hybrid (non-ultrasoft) 6lb on all my spinning rigs.

I believe the actual breaking strength is closer to 10 lbs. It's super strong - my 3 biggest bass (6,7, and 8.8lbs) have all come in the last 18 months, and have all come on 6lb Hybrid. I have never had a fish break off on the Yo Zuri line either.

I fish #6 on spinning tackle and #12 on baitcasting gear. I have never been broken off by a fish using this line.

Can you use #8 or #10 on spinning tackle?

Maybe.  You will probably like it just fine, but leave a little extra margin when filling your spool.

Thanks RW and everyone for the info. I will be going to BPS this Sat. and I will pick up some #6. Let me ask you this= what do you use this 6lb. for worms ect.?

I fish all soft plastics and light jigs on a 7' MF spinning rod and #6 Ultra Soft.

Thanks again RW you sold me! ;)

Just picked up some 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft two days ago.  I thought I would go and see for myself what everyone else is talking about.  Now if the ice on the lakes would disappear, I'd be set.

Absolutely, last time we talked, he convinced me to try the Remy Martin XO, great call, love it.  Smooth off the lip and zero memory.

;)

Thanks Buddy!!  For ALL you do!!

The only thing better than Remy XO is to have an Avo XO to go with it.

Cheers,

Yea, but you have to use it awhile before the memory goes away.  ;)

BPS doesn't sell the Ultra Soft. I've only seen Hybrid in one (of three I've looked) BPS store.
