bladed jig Rod

Featured Replies

TW has a daily sale on the Evergreen Brett Hite Super Combat Stick Casting Rod.

it’s a sharp looking rod and for 45% off I’m tempted to pull the trigger. Anyone have experience with this beaut? Lure rating goes up to 2oz which seems like a wide range of applications. Looking for a rod to rip chatterbaits and lipless cranks through grass. Not sure if the moderate slow action will be the ticket for this. TIA

Would you say it’s stout enough to rip lipless cranks and chatterbaits through grass? Also, what reel did you pair it with?

Ok so although I don’t own this rod I’m pretty sure a handful of others on here do which led me to the search feature which led me to a few responses 😉 Hoping this helps.IMG_4573.png.07a472b1f8dc223a2e9a4984ef88f18e.png

I've fished the rod (a friends) with 1/2oz chatterbaits and it is really nice. It is optimized for how the bait accelerates on a clearing snap, and for pinning fish. I don't think it's well-built for a rattletrap if you are really burying it up in the grass.

It is still on clearance, but no longer on daily deal. Check the sale thread for additional discount.

@txchaser yeah what a bummer! I just talked myself into pulling the trigger and the price changed. Not going to get it anymore.. I’ve never had or even fished a glass composite rod, so was worried I wouldn’t like it. And that’s a hefty price point to find out I don’t like that style rod. But dang, from the pictures it sure looks like a beautiful rod!

Am I in the wrong to think a bladed jig rod can also double as a lipless? Guess I should look at moving bait specific rods.. any recommendations?

Also what’s this sale thread you mentioned?

@djhands what are the guide size on this rod? I don’t really care for micro guides to be honest.

They are normal guides not like BPS micros.    Lots of sensitive for a composite but nothing like a conquest 904

If this rod weren't so heavy and look like a broomstick.. I would give it a try...

hahah yeah she do look thick!

I throw my jackhammers on a MB Orochi XX Diablo Spec-R. You’re more than welcome to try it sometime if we meet up…

Nope - went to ditto instead. Just didn’t feel like running “all” the way out there…

DM me whenever you want to throw it…
