Hello,  and welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums. Regarding your first post, I would suggest sending the Rapala Customer Service Department an email with those photos explaining what happened at custserv.usa@rapalavmc.com. And here’s their phone number in Minnesota +1-952-933-7060. I hope this helps and again welcome to Bass Resource.

It's been happening with those for years but they catch fish.

This sums up the Rapala experience. Durability sucks but catchability is through the roof. Fair trade off for middle of the road priced baits.

I’ve had issues with those as well. The internal weight transfer ball will get stuck and you have to shake it to get it to move. They don’t work when they’re like that.

Guys, I've been having problems lately with the Rapala X-Rap.
The blades break after just two or three uses.

Do you reel your baits tight to the rod tip after use?

I had the same issues with them years ago. I lost all faith in them. Plus, I really didn't catch that many fish with this bait.

Dang! I’ve got two I’ve fished pretty rough. I love them. Didn’t know this is an issue

I’ve fished X Raps for at least 15 years, mostly in pretty harsh river environments, and have never broken a lip.  I don’t believe them to be indestructible, but I would look for more likely explanations.  One obvious one is bouncing it off rocks or other hard surfaces with the cast.  Another is fishing it in water too shallow and plowing the bottom.

Pallet interesting choice of word for lip!

The lip shouldn’t break under normal use.

XRap been on the market a few years you may have an issue getting them replaced but worth a try.

Welcome to:BR.
