Plastics Binder Question

Featured Replies

  • Super User

I have been blessed to have been given one of these - https://www.basspro.com/p/bass-pro-shops-utility-binder and it dawned on me...

I'm not sure if you're supposed to leave the soft plastics in their original packaging or if you're supposed to remove them when putting them in the clear binder pockets. Obviously you can do either, but is there a benefit to one way or the other? Tips and tricks for these things are appreciated as well.

I haven't started using this yet, but I'm going to incorporate it into my fishing as I like it quite a bit.

Leave them in the original bags. The binders are of a different plastic than the bait-bags. They'll absorb odors and if the plastic bait is Elaztech, they'll melt the binder 'pages'.

I’ve done it both ways. But not gonna lie original bags in there was easier. For the most part.

I had one react ro my baits that were out of their bags.  I have another binder that never reacted.

I still use 4 tacklelogic bags that i bought when they first came out (70's / 80's?) never put the original bags inside the pages. That's too many ziplocks for me.

I'd keep them in original bags. Then you can fit 2-3 different baits in each sleeve without different colors touching/bleeding on each other.
