3" Grubs

I've been happy enough with the 3" Zoom Fat Albert grubs.

I also have been happy with the 2" Powergrubs. I haven't had the chance to see or pick up the 3" Powergrubs yet.

How comparable are they? One better or worse than the other for anything?

Are there any grubs in the same size range I should consider?

Kalin's grubs are the original grubs, I believe.  I've been using them since the mid-80s and have caught hundreds, if not thousands, of fish on them.  They have a gazillion colors, but stick with the smoke salt & pepper, clear salt & pepper, and electric blue for clear to stained water, and Junebug for murky.  Pumpkin salt & pepper, and Avocado are good all-purpose colors as well (pumpkin was the go-to color for years before green pumpkin hit the market)

With grubs, keep it simple.  All of the action is in the tail.  The body should be a robust plastic to stay on the hook after a bunch of fish.  That also makes for a tail that won’t get bit off by bluegills.  No need for a high salt, soft body plastic.  The kalins are good.  Zoom for sure are good.  Even the BPS grubs (if you’re going to the store) are good and good value.

A 3” white twister on a pink or red head accounted for a LOT of fish growing up.  Smoke was the other color.

Another vote for Kalin single tail grub and add Yamamoto double tail grub!

Loved the 2" and 3" yamamoto grubs but haven't been able to find them in years.

They don't even show them on their site - probably discontinued.

I’ve used kalins, zoom and big bite baits. A grub is something I never really got picky with. That said I can get kalins pretty dang cheap and readily available here.
