Lure retrievers

Featured Replies

Any good suggestions?

Lures are so dang expensive now, figure I add one to the tackle bag.

Thanks!

I carry both the standard Bass Pro hunk of lead/chains one (throw away the string that comes with it and get a 20’ retractable dog leash) and an extendable pole type golf ball retriever that I found at Goodwill for $2 and tie wired a couple of coil springs to.

I have also used the net to snag a RatLTrap from a tree.

I bought a “Stump Master” telescopic lure retriever awhile back and it paid for itself the first time I had it on my boat. Whenever the coiled wire gets damaged, I just grab an old wire hanger and make a new one.

I'll drop a spoon in 40' or so in a brush pile and carry the lead fish if I can't get it out by shaking.  It works more than 1/2 the time if you can get right over the spoon.  I wind the line around a 1/2 gallon milk bottle.

Cheap BPS retriever, 200 lb Muzzy bowfishing line on a old BPS round reel for standard lures. Toothy Fishman 1.5 lber on 1/4 rope for big swimbaits.

Get over snagged lure, clip to your line, bounce it loose.  Works most of the time.

I like the Leland's Lures Loc n Knoc a lot because the plastic sleeve seems to be easy on my line. If I run out, a 2 ounce weight and a coated paperclip usually get it done.

the wife bought me a guided trip on Lake Chickamauga. I deer hunt, so I went in February. We primarily used the A Rig and small swimbaits. Caught a boat load. In any event, I got the A Rig hung up in brush at least ten times. And the guide did too. The guide used the "Tip's Golden Retriever Lure Retriever" and with little or no effort got each rig back. Got me one. Only used it once. It worked.

I use this one has gotten my 110's, Frittsides, shad raps, and spoons back more times than I can count last few years.
