Has anyone had experience with Evergreen/Daiwa rod warranty ?

Featured Replies

Unfortunately my Evergreen Combat Stick (7'4" Medium) broke (trying to pull a fish out of the grass) - Daiwa handles Evergreens warranty in the US - I filled out the form, put a description of how it happened, put the rod in a tube with the original receipt and sent it in - 11 weeks ago - I have not heard anything from them and have not gotten any return phone calls - Has anyone else dealt with an Evergreen rod warranty thru Daiwa ? What was your experience like ? If you had an issue, how did you resolve it ?

I had a St. Croix rod break and they had me take pics, cut the rod in half (and take pics of that), send in $60 (to cover shipping) - and then a few weeks later I had a new/replacement rod - simple and seamless.

Did you get a confirmation RMA ( Return Material Authorization)?
If you have confirmation contact Daiwa Corp.

Haven’t used it yet.   Glad I haven’t but always wondered how it was.   I have 7 evergreen combat sticks.

I've sent a rod to get the AGS guides repaired twice. I filled out the warranty form request and attached a copy of the invoice and I received a rod back in less than two weeks.

You should call the CA customer service line during their hours to see what is going on, they're generally pretty responsive. Maybe they're waiting for a part.

I once had lost the insert to a rod tip and couldn't find a replacement. Daiwa sent me one under warranty, but it took 5-6 months. That's my only experience so far.

It might be worth contacting Daiwa to see if they will even warranty the rod.  The warranty is for manufacturering defects and not user error.  If the rod tip snapped pulling a fish out of grass then that sounds like user error to me.  It's easy to high stick the rod doing that and bend the tip in a way that it easily snaps off.  If the blank shattered or the rod folded in half then absolutely use the warranty.  Tip breakages?  That's user error and I've done it myself to a few rods.

I haven’t had any problems with Daiwa @WaskaCrank12, quite the contrary as my experience has been their customer service is excellent. Last time I needed help, my Zillion was replaced with a Tatula AGS.

Here’s Daiwa’s Warranty/Repair Service number 1 (562) 375-6800.

@MiceNReets - nice that you have 7 of the Combat Sticks ! I have 4, including the one I have sent in - I have enjoyed them and my hope is that I will receive some feedback from them as to what the status is.

@J._Bricker - thank you for the phone number you provided, I had been calling/leaving a message on the different number than that one.

@WRB-2.0 - I have copies of all of the information (return form, receipts of original purchase, tracking info. for shipping ect...)

Thank you for your replies and information - I did call the number @J._Bricker gave to me and they said the warranty claim was "in process" -- and today I received the warranty replacement rod !

I have 4 Evergreen Combat Sticks (including this 7'4" Medium/Spinning) and have really enjoyed them - I had only used the rod 2 times (it still had the SKU and plastic on the lower part of the handle) so I am pleased that they saw fit to replace it.

It was a slow process, no communication from Daiwa (I had the tracking number for my return to them, so I knew they received it, it would have been nice to get an email confirmation that they received it/that it was "in process" or that the claim was honored/rejected), but in the end they came thru and honored the warranty.

My warranty claim with St. Croix was processed more quickly - yet outside of an email that they had received my $60 "processing fee" - I had no communication from them either - the replacement rod just showed up a few weeks later.

Overall I am happy that both companies honored their warranties.
